Bio

Sierra joined the Barile Lab in July 2017 after completing her B.S. in chemistry at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She recently finished her Ph.D. in the department of Food Science and Technology at UC Davis and is now working as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Barile Lab. Her projects have included exploration and analysis of bioactive oligosaccharides in milk and dairy products originating from bovine, human, porcine, and caprine sources, in their raw forms and after enzymatic or microbial treatment, through a variety of liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and capillary electrophoresis techniques.
