Bio

After obtaining a Doctorate in Food Science & Technology (2012) from the University of Valencia (Spain), my goal was to identify, characterize and evaluate the biological effect of bioactive compounds present in the lipid fraction of mammal milk, especially those used infants feeding (human and bovine milk) on newborn’s health. Due to lipids’ complexity and low concentration, omics techniques are needed for their evaluation. I joined Barile’s lab to increase the knowledge of both analytical methodology (mass spectrometry) and biological effects (treatment and prevention of disease) of glycolipids, specifically sialic acid and gangliosides.
