Yu and Dani Graduation

Congratulations to Yu Wang on Earning Her Ph.D.!

The Barile Lab is thrilled to announce the newest member of the Ph.D. club, Dr. Yu Wang! Yu joined the Barile lab in 2021 and made significant contributions to the field of dairy bioactives. Her doctoral work focused extensively on the analysis of bovine milk oligosaccharides from multiple regions and Heritage breeds, helping to characterize natural variations in prebiotic content. She also played a key role in a collaborative project exploring enzymatic strategies to enhance milk's prebiotic potential. Furthermore, Yu initiated a crucial project focused on characterizing milk bioactive glycans isolated from Extracellular Vesicles (EVs), opening new avenues for nutraceutical development.

Beyond her research, Yu was actively involved in the academic community. She served on the Food Science Graduate Student Association as the Industry Liaison and was instrumental in organizing the inaugural Industry Career Panel. She also dedicated time to volunteer at recruitment events for the Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry Graduate Group, of which she is a proud member. We are incredibly fortunate to have worked alongside Yu and wish her all the very best and great success in the next chapter of her professional journey!
